As in title. This anime intrigues me but I am wondering if I should go back and watch all the old Saint Seiya stuff that I have never seen before watching this. Is it worth it?

Skip the boring ass episodes and start from the SANCTUARY arc. Trust me you won't regret it

You will meet the greatest gold saint of all time. Aka Virgo Shaka.

-The Class

-The Beauty

-The Power

He's the GOAT.

to be honest Omega isn't a good way to start the franchise, it requires some knowledge of the original... but the original is quite old an hasn't aged well
if you are gonna watch a Saint Seiya series then watch the prequel The Lost Canvas which was made in 2009 an 2011, it has great animation an some amazing battles

well thats kinda odd considering just how similar Bleach is to Saint Seiya, particularly that Soul Society arc

Should I watch all the old Saint Seiya before this? (7)

an that's why I usually recommend the prequel over the original, The Lost Canvas animation is fantastic an it doesn't decrease quality unlike most other battle shonen

There is a summary of the first Saint Seiya. Given that every arc is more or less rehash of the Sanctuary (someone wants to destroy Earth -> Athena sacrifices herself -> the rest needs to save her and the world by kicking the main bad's ass - actually calling it standard shounen fare is more fair) I think you can safely try that one and still know what's going on to understand Omega. In short - Seiya and co. saved the Earth dozens of times by kicking ass of half of Greek Pantheon (and sometimes ventured into other mythologies) and they are considered badasses, especially Seiya who even hung out with Athena. Somewhat. Yeah. And that's all you need to know when watching Omega as it's itself quite selective of the original material.

I always start by the ones that were first released, thanks. By the way, will Omega end anytime soon? I would prefer to start watching these once it is all done. I don't like much watching series that are still on going, already have a couple of those so I avoid to add more.

by the time you are done with this, Omega d most likely end... unless they decide to make a newer season but i doubt it

usually the Gold Saint arc is the most popular among the fans, i thought it was good but not that good, Shakas fight was one of the best though, imo 2nd best SS fight... Silver Saint arc had its moments

So i've heard, but to be honest I enjoyed the fights during the Silver Saint arcs a lot more than Gold Saint, the only fights I liked was Cancer vs Shiryu, and Ikki vs Shaka. I honestly disliked how these Bronze Saints get kicked around by these Gold Saints for 3 eps with their techniques which are usually their strongest attacks yet but manage to survive like
I still like SS, but this arc is weaker compared to the previous IMO.
I think I was just really intrigued by the small mystery of The Gold Saints since you at least get a foreshadowing of their existence in the beginning of the series.

LMAO WAT. Shaka was okay??? OKAY?

How dare you disrespect the KING and the GOAT.

Shaka >>>>>>>>>>>>> Aiolia in Charisma, power, and beauty.

But I agree Aiolia is the best gold saint in terms of JUSTICE AND VALORS though. I'll give you that.
