After a run of a couple disappointing films, I guess I wanted a palate cleanser, something that I can enter knowing it will be bad and then smugly say "Yep, that was bad."
Yep, that was bad. Second Glance is another in the line of Christian "educational" films that preach to the already converted about how their way of living is the only one that's valid. This time, the issue is that a boy isn't getting the things he wants, and figures that his adherence to Christianity is probably to blame. He gets bullied, girls don't want to date him, he can't go to parties -- it's the myth of Christian persecution. But luckily, just as in It's a Wonderful…

Even Christians feel the burn of the friend zone.
A frustrated, horny, Christian teen gets to live life as a secular teen for a day thanks to the plot of It's a Wonderful Life. Dan is frustrated after being turned down by a girl he likes and in his lust-addled, blue balled rage wishes he wasn't a Christian anymore. Genie God decides to grant his wish because apparently, having solved world hunger, he doesn't have anything better to do.
Anyway, the kid wakes up hungover, his house is suddenly a mess, he's now popular with the jerks, is trying to juggle two girlfriends, has a nicer car that he bought with gambling winnings, his mom and dad have divorced because…

This was a fun Saturday morning watch. I should have watched it tomorrow and used it as my sunday service. I also masturbated while watching this. -

"Remember kids, prayers are like wishes. If you pray hard enough your parents won't get that divorce, but if you drop the ball, it's all your fault." -- This movie for some reason.

Sometimes you find It's a Wonderful Life in the unlikeliest of places. Here a kid wishes he could renounce his faith, and wakes up wearing a backwards baseball cap to show how he now embraces sin. Jesus, man!
For what Second Glance is, I can't say it doesn't achieve its goals. For someone looking for a laugh, however, it's far too obnoxious of a soapbox for that.

in this movie, david a.r. white is told by an angel that many of his friends are going to hell but all he does is nod his head and not ask about who they are or what he can to do to save them

Part I of
Flounder's Christathon0/10 film.
Fuck yeah, David A.R. White!
-Brad "The Cinema Snob" JonesIncompetently made, poorly acted, and feeling completely phoned-in, Second Glance is the textbook definition of a bad faith-based film, full of terrible messages and moments that are absolutely hilarious but for all of the wrong reasons, especially the infamous final scene.
"Hey, Scotty... Jesus, man!"
