Tracy May (Burck) Rosenow, passed away Monday, November 15th, 2021 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD after a brief illness.

Tracy was born February 1, 1963 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Hettinger, ND. She was the third of four daughters born to William G. and Marian O. (Dockter) Burck. She was baptized and confirmed at the Hettinger Lutheran Church. She attended Hettinger Public School, graduating with the Class of 1981.

The location of Tracy’s childhood home offered many great prospects for Tracy: Living across the street from the Hettinger Public School gave her the opportunity to sleep in longer and get home sooner than most of her classmates. This was a great benefit as well, for lunch hours. She enjoyed year-round swimming with the indoor swimming pool across the street. The Flame Lanes bowling alley was only one block south, where she was active in Junior League bowling during her high school years. The neighborhood was rich with great kids that created many game-nights and life-long friendships.

Tracy grew up in a loving home where the importance of friends and family was learned early on. As a young child, she loved going with her Dad to the City Café for early morning coffee with the guys. Her family rarely missed getting together with friends on weekends. She cherished spending a week every summer with both sets of grandparents, where she experienced her first driving lesson to the mail box, on a dirt road.

Tracy was adventurous, rarely staying in one place very long. Her first son, Christopher Joel Eide, was born April 18, 1983 while living in Beulah, North Dakota. Her second son, Shaun Michael Bonomo was born April 22, 1988 while living on Travis Air Force Base, California. After living in Italy for a few years, Tracy and her sons moved back “home” where her sons both graduated from the same high school that she did.

On June 7, 2002, Tracy married Dion Rosenow, the love of her life. She soon settled into country living, where she loved to call home. She enjoyed the ranch life and often spoke of their cattle and calving season. Tracy and Dion worked side by side each day, doing what they both loved. She always made everything special, often ending the day on the deck with a special drink presented in a pretty glass. She took pride in the life they built together.

Tracy and Dion worked hard and played hard, rarely missing an opportunity to get together with friends. They enjoyed many concerts, side by side off-roading in the hills, their luck at Deadwood and Las Vegas, and date night. She had many friends and cherished each one. She was quick witted and will be remembered by her generosity.

Tracy was over joyed by the birth of her grandson, Ryan. She took several trips to Minnesota to see him. She shared that there’s nothing better than hearing your grandchild call you “Grandma”. She embraced Stephanie’s children as her grandchildren, and was so proud to be a Grandma.

Tracy will be missed dearly by her husband, Dion, Harding County, SD; sons Chris (Renu) Eide, Lindstrom, MN, and Shaun (friend, Stephanie) Bonomo, Bowman, ND; grandchildren, Ryan Rishi Eide, Paige, Hank, and Everly Brooks, and Porter Lindstrom; mother-in-law, Maxine Rosenow; sisters Tammy (Kevin) Schneider, and Ronda (Christ) Stang; sisters-in-law Debby (John) Soreide, and Kem (Mark) Huisman, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; William and Marian (Dockter) Burck; father-in-law, Roger Rosenow; sister, Debra K. Burck, granddaughter, Adalyn Ray Bonomo; cousins, Jon Dockter and Mark Stack; and numerous aunts and uncles.
